A large poultry operation in central California required a reliable bulk propane storage solution to support heating systems for multiple chicken houses. Maintaining a consistent fuel supply is critical in agricultural environments, where temperature control directly impacts production and animal welfare. The operation identified an opportunity to improve efficiency by increasing on-site storage capacity rather than relying on more frequent fuel deliveries.
Modern Welding Company fabricated five 30,000-gallon aboveground LPG storage tanks, each designed for high-capacity propane storage in a rural environment. The tanks measure 108 inches inside diameter by 67 feet-1 inch overall length and are rated for 250 PSI. Each vessel was constructed in accordance with ASME Section VIII pressure vessel standards, ensuring safe and reliable performance in pressurized propane service. The tanks were skid-mounted, allowing for efficient installation and long-term operational flexibility.
By expanding bulk storage capacity, the facility improved fuel supply reliability while reducing delivery frequency and associated logistical constraints. This approach provides a more economical and strategic solution for agricultural energy management, while maintaining the strength, durability, and code-compliant performance expected of large-scale steel storage tank systems.
