Specifications
Available
in the following sizes
2 cu yard 56" Diameter x 30" tall.
3 cu yard 70" Diameter x 36" tall.
4 cu yard 70" Diameter x 48" tall.
6 cu yard 70" Diameter x 72" tall.
Design
Containers are to be designed and constructed to be used
with existing truck-mounted, hydraulic, front end top
loading equipment. Containers shall be designed to permit
discharge of the contents by using controls inside the
vehicle without manual assistance while dumping.
Construction
Front (Pick up Side) and Rear Walls: Containers to have 10
gauge steel.
Side Walls and Bottoms: Containers to have 10 gauge steel
walls and 10 gauge steel bottoms.
Skids: Container bottoms to be fitted with two capped skids
of 3" formed structural channel. Skids shall be skip welded
to container bottom extending from pickup wall to rear
wall. Skids to be positioned approximately 12" in from side
of container.
Double Plate: Container bottom to be fitted with four 10
gauge steel double plates approximately 8" x 8"
continuously welded to container bottom equally spaced.
Front Wall Bumper Plates: Containers to have bumper plates constructed of minimum 1/4" steel, approximately 9" x 15", and shall be positioned so the bumper plate extends approximately 1/2" in front of the cylinder and even with the sleeve.
Rear Wall Drain: Containers to have a 1 1/2" diameter threaded drain hole fitted with threaded plug. Drain hole to be located at floor level in the rear wall and on the side of the rear wall opposite the driver side of dumping vehicles.
Pick Up Sleeves: Container sleeves to be constructed of a minimum 10 gauge steel. Dimensions of the sleeves to be approximately 9" x 4" x 27". Sleeves shall be continuously welded to container so that front of sleeve is 6" from front of container. Gussets shall be 1/4" steel on each end of sleeve.
Lids: Containers shall have well fitted center split (front to rear) polyethylene lids hinged so as to allow them to lay flat. When lids are closed, they shall meet in the center with sufficient clearance to eliminate binding.
Lid Construction: Each lid to be rotationally molded in one piece from high density cross-linked polyethylene (Marlex CL-100 or equivalent). Carbon black material color and material thickness of minimum 1/8" for single walled lids and minimum 1/16" for double walled lids shall be used throughout lid construction. Each lid shall have integrally molded and reinforced hinged designed to accept 1/2" diameter round hinge rod.
Welding: All side and bottom seams shall be continuously welded to form a completely water tight container
Material Standards All steel will be new and of
commercial quality. Gauges shall meet A.I.S.I.
standards.
Painting: Containers shall be thoroughly cleaned to remove
all rust, slag, grease and foreign matter. All rough edges
shall be removed by grinding. Containers to be primed
painted inside only. All exterior surfaces to be finished
coated with exterior enamel for metal.
Advantages of the Modern
"Pourster"
Replacement Cost
Replacement cost for lids and bottoms of Modern's POURSTER
is substantially reduced due to the fact that all the lids
and bottoms of each size POURSTER are interchangeable. When
replacement of bottoms are necessary, the customer will
find this process made easier due to the fact that the
installation requires only one continuous weld, 18.5 feet
versus 25 feet and thus less costly. Also, replacements on
Modern's POURSTERS are reduced because the bumpers elimate
damage by the trucks when transference of the refuse
occurs.
Easy Usage
Modern's POURSTER has a cylindrical design which reduces
flow resistance due to absence of any corners, allowing the
contents to be poured instead of dumped reducing the amount
of spillage.
Strength
The heavier material, 10 gauge verses 12 gauge,
incorporated with Modern's POURSTER and it's cylinderical
design increases its strength. The rigidity of the lifting
sleeves and bumpers are enhanced because of 1/4" and 10
gauge material.
Options
In the five or six yard POURSTERS, the side doors are
available in polyethylene or steel. Modern's POURSTERS may
also be painted to the customer's color requirements.
