Roof Support Arches
Our underground
roof support arches protect your most valued employees and your
equipment. Safety begins at the mouth of the mine. Our underground
roof support arches feature a unique Personnel Shield for peace
of mind security and protection during installation.
Personnel Shield
The Personnel Shield assists installation in the most sensible manner
possible. The Shield consists of two identical units which are installed
side by side at the center line of the arch. This allows installers
to work under the Shield and under the flange of the arch being
set. Installers can safely adjust the legs to correct distance from
the preceding set and install sag rods for the following set. After
installation of lagging and tightening of sag rods, the Personnel
Shield slides forward until it is finally disengaged from the structure.
The same procedure is repeated for each successive set.
Design and Material of Construction
Our Underground Roof Support Arches are computer analyzed to determine
the load strength. They are easily erected with only 4 high strength
bolts necessary for completion. Every joint is seal welded - not
stitched welded - and each arch is fabricated from ASTM-36 steel
plate. Our arches have a footplate designed to embed in the ground
to help resist the tendency to spread under load. We can also furnish,
as an option, a tie rod to further resist spreading. The primary
resistance to spreading is achieved by blocking between the leg
arch and the rib.
Extensions are available to increase the width and height of our
standard arch. We also offer custom design arches. In fact, we
can tackle any design problem successfully. Our arches are supplied
primed painted, however unpainted arches are available on request.
We can also solve your intersection roof support needs in a manner
that is compatible with our arches.
VENTILATION OVERCAST
Kentucky overcast
is one of the strongest prefab units made, making it ideal for
permanent and re-useable use. Overcasts are made to fit the individual
size specification of the customer. Erection time is 4 hours
or less. Factory representatives are available to instruct mine
personnel, on site, with installation of your initial overcast.

Custom forming, rolling, shearing, cutting, and other operations

wide flange beams, expanded metal, grating, floor plate, etc. Custom
forming, rolling, shearing, cutting, and other operations are available.
Other products include coal handling and processing equipment (overland
